What began as legislation to make political candidates disclose foreign citizenships has spiraled into a new Senate bill eliminating dual citizenships altogether after right-wing podcast hosts — including Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, and Nick Fuentes — have spent months calling for the total end of dual citizenships in the United States.
In March, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced legislation that would require political candidates to disclose dual citizenship in order to seek federal office. The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh spoke about the bill on his podcast, saying, “I don’t know — why do we allow the concept of a dual citizenship at all?”
