Texas is Dealing With the First Case of Bird Flu This Year

(WBAP/KLIF) – SHELBY COUNTY, TX – Last Thursday, testing uncovered the case in Shelby County, which is located about an hour southeast of Tyler. USDA inspectors and federal health officials are working to contain the virus, which includes quarantining the infected birds. Officials with the CDC stated that the risk of transmitting the bird flu to people is low, and everyone should use all regular precautions when cooking poultry and eggs.
