Nothing has officially launched the Nothing Phone 4a series, introducing two new smartphones with distinctive designs and upgraded hardware. The lineup includes the Nothing Phone 4a Pro, and both models feature the brand’s signature transparent design language. The standard Phone 4a debuts a new Glyph Bar, while the Pro variant brings back the Glyph Matrix, previously seen on the Nothing Phone 3. The new devices also offer improvements in display quality, performance, and battery life, making them a notable upgrade over previous models.

Design and Colours

Nothing has introduced the Nothing Phone 4a and Nothing Phone 4a Pro with distinct designs and colour options. The Phone 4a Pro is available in silver, black, and pink, while the Phone 4a comes in pink, blue, black, and white. Both devices feature the recording light first seen on the Nothing Phone 3.

The Pro model adopts a new metallic design with a metal unibody, while retaining transparent elements around the camera module and the Glyph Matrix lighting system. Both smartphones feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. The Phone 4a Pro supports a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, while the standard Phone 4a offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits brightness. The Pro variant is also said to have the slimmest bezels on a Nothing phone. Both devices include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and pack 5,400mAh batteries with 50W fast charging. For protection, the Phone 4a Pro has an IP65 rating, while the Phone 4a carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Performance, Software and Cameras

Under the hood, the Phone 4a Pro runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the Phone 4a is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Both models feature UFS 3.1 storage, while the Pro variant also gets LPDDR5X RAM and larger vapour chambers for improved thermal performance. They run Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.1 with AI features like Essential Space and support custom Glyph Matrix animations on the Pro model.

For photography, both phones include triple rear camera systems, with the Pro model featuring a 50-megapixel Sony primary sensor, a 50-megapixel 3.5x periscope telephoto, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera.
